ABOUT

The Bealach Beag Cycle Sportive is the bucket list cycle event that every cyclist needs to attempt.

This is no ordinary cycle sportive. Ran by the Shieldaig Communtiy Association along 45 miles of iconic Highland roads many have dubbed "the United Kingdom's prettiest and most challenging bike ride."

Every penny of your entry fee is used to raise money for the very community in which the event takes place.

Expect stunning views, lung bursting climbs, a warm Highland welcome and the opportunity to ride the fabled 626m high 9km long  Bealach Na Ba mountain pass on closed roads along with 400 other cyclists.

Starting and finishing in the stunning coastal village of Shieldaig you will ride east to the foot of the Bealach and over to the beautiful sanctuary of Applecross on the shores of the North West Atlantic coast. If you think that is the fun over you are mistaken - as the route continues around the undulating Applecross peninsula - look west across to the isles of Raasay, Rona, and Skye and further to the hills of Harris. As you turn back towards Shieldaig the stunning vistas of the Torridon Giants open up. A final sting in the tail awaits as the rollercoaster climbs increase as the finish line in Shieldaig approaches.

All proceeds of the event will be used for a variety of local projects. Your entry into the event will make a direct and tangible benefit to the lives of the people whom live there whilst also providing memories that will last a lifetime.
